The Story

NINE dot ARTS, working with Sage Hospitality and DLR Group, curated an art collection for the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest that highlights the city’s creative talent, active lifestyle and unique landscape. Minneapolis’ Millennial mindset pushes its experimental, progressive, contemporary art scene while world-class institutions like the Walker Art Center and Highpoint Center for Printmaking raise the area’s artistic caliber. NINE dot ARTS tapped into this artistic excellence to acquire works for the project by the area’s leading talent that showcase Minneapolis’ culture and geography. The art collection references hiking, fishing, hockey, lakes, forests, the city’s financial district, craft beer and even Claes Oldenburg’s “Spoonbridge and Cherry.” The art collection provides a nuanced and multi-layered view of the city and engages guests throughout the property.
